Duet Mobius (Slava Iourgaev - ‘Cello & Victoria Bilogan - piano)
Victoria Bilogan was born in Odessa, Ukraine into a family of musicians, learning the piano as she learned to walk. At ten, Victoria won first prize at the All-Ukraine Juniors music competition. After completing studies at a special music high school for gifted children, and then the Odessa College of Music with a BMus. (First Class Honours), Victoria received a scholarship to the internationally renowned Odessa State Conservatory of Music with Professor Goncharov. She graduated with Honours. In 1994 and in the same year moved to Australia. In Australia Victoria continued her classical studies, winning a postgraduate scholarship to the Victorian College of the Arts where she completed her second Master's Degree in Piano Performance and Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts.
Participant of Mondsee Festival (Austria) Townsville Chamber Music Festival(Australia), Mozarteum International Music Festival(Austria),she has performed widely in solo and chamber music recitals in Australia, Europe, Denmark and Russia in collaboration with internationally acclaimed violinist M.Keylin (United States).
In Australia Victoria has studied with Professor Boris Guslitzer, Michael Solovei, Frank Wibaut, Marco van Pagee and Roland Farren-Price.
Viatcheslav (Slava) Iourgaev came to Australia in 1994 from Uzbekistan where he obtained his Master's degree ('92) in Violoncello performance from the Tashkent State Conservatorium. He has performed with several orchestras around Melbourne, and now teaches‘cello at numerous schools. Slava is also a member of the 'String Quartet Unique' and has performed many times as a soloist on 'cello with the Melbourne Mandolin Orchestra. Recently, he has become very popular in his current role as the MMO's conductor.
