I am enjoying being a part of St Michael’s, having attended most Sunday services for nearly two years.

With Dr Macnab’s leadership St Michael’s is a thoughtful place, where religious rhetoric is challenged and succeeded by dignified debate. The graces of kindness, acceptance, humour, beauty and responsibility are heard in each morning service, and in the activities of the St Michael’s community. So it is an honour and a pleasure to be involved.

Personally, I would be disinclined to use polarising terms such as “new”, “old”, “right”, “wrong” etc., preferring to express my faith gently, perhaps because I am a woman. However, I absolutely applaud Dr Macnab’s activism. I demonstrated this during the service on 28th of September by clapping heartily.

Regarding the traditional music, attire, architecture, rituals of St Michael’s Uniting Church: how proud I am! My late grandfather was a minister of the Uniting Church. In fact he was quite conservative in his views – if he were still alive I’m sure we would be avoiding certain topics at family get-togethers.

For anyone viewing this website, reading comments such as mine, taking an interest in current debate surrounding St Michael’s, I encourage you to pay close attention to the depth and relevance of Dr Macnab’s teachings from Sunday to Sunday.

    Cheerio,
    Melissa

Within St Michaels Uniting Church environment, I have been able, over 37 years, to develop a personal identity, sense of freedom and follow dreams which I thought were unattainable. All this has been achievable through Dr Macnab's use of biblical language and a belief system which inspires the soul to reach for goodness, tenderness and beauty so needed in our world today in the 21st Century.

I really appreciate Dr Macnab's courage and professionalism to establish a `new faith' within our Australian Culture. Thank you.

    Dear All at St Michael's,

Martine and I would like to thank you for your support throughout the wedding.

We thank GOD mostly for his assistance through the people we have met at St Michael's because none of us have seen GOD but we can feel his presence in our surroundings with people we meet or in our relationship.

The energy and efforts that people put in to accompany us on our wedding day was wonderful.

We thank also Dr Macnab and the catering staff for their commitment to bring up a smile on our face.

To St Michael's uniting church members, for their caring and supportive role. For us it has been more than a family.

    Thank you so much.

Dr Macnab looks great for his age! He must be at least 150 years old. I base that on the indisputable fact that he is clearly the muse for Evelyn Waugh's recurring character, "the modern Churchman."

*Never have I had any desire to be involved in organised religion, however, this is a progressive, inclusive church which appeals to me in a logical way.*

How can feelings and logic honestly co exist?

You're on a slow comfortable arm chair ride to hell.

From the home page of this site..."St Michael's is a unique Christian presence in the city of Melbourne."

Please, please, please remove the word 'Christian' from anything that you do, say, print or publicise. 'Christian' implies you are a follower and disciple of Christ. That He is Lord and you are prepared to submit under His authority. Nothing I have read, heard or seen from Dr. Macnab / St. Michael's suggests that you give Christ that kind of authority.

Use of the 'Christian' label is both mis-leading and deceptive to the general public and completely dis-honouring to Christ.

You are a deception! You will bury John 14:6 under clouds of 'feel good' doctrine grounded in self. Christ warns us "Those who lose their lives for my sake and for the Gospel's will find life; those who keep their life will lose it". Be warned, your end will come!

Congratulations on this new fresh Web site. It is both attractive and easier to find information.

I have been attending services at St Michaels on a fairly regular basis since November and I leave uplifted and fresh every time.
Never have I had any desire to be involved in organised religion, however, this is a progressive, inclusive church which appeals to me in a logical way.
People of the congregation have been friendly and welcoming and Dr Macnab consistently delivers highly inspiring words in practical contexts.
Finally, I wish to praise the women in the creche who take wonderful care of my baby son and who make it possible for me to have some spiritual space.
