The Ian Potter Museum of Art
We look forward to a guided tour by one of the curators of the museum, covering four exhibitions. The highlights being the Dr Samuel Arthur Ewing Collection and Ancient Coins: heads and tales from antique lands.
The "Ewing Collection" comprises fifty-six paintings, prints and drawings by major nineteenth and early twentieth-century artists. It was Ewing's intention that these works instruct Australians in a love of their country.
"Ancient Coins," is a specially designed exhibition featuring selected coins from the empires of the Greco-Roman World. They will reveal fascinating insights into the history and society of the times using specialised mounts, lighting and magnifiers to facilitate close examination of the coins.
We will have lunch together after the tour at Graduate House.
