Spring - An ideal time to visit our beautiful Royal Botanic Gardens! Here we will meet with an aboriginal guide, who will take us on a journey!
This journey will provide us with a greater understanding and respect for the customs and rich heritage of the local Boonwurrung and Woiwurrung people. On this aboriginal Heritage Walk we will discover the ancestral lands that the Royal Botanic Gardens now occupy. We will explore the traditional uses of plants for food, medicine, tools and ceremony.
Our walk leaves from the Visitor's Centre at the Observatory gate, at 11am sharp. Please ensure that you arrive at the visitor's centre at 10.45am. The tour will go ahead in all weather, so please bring appropriate clothing and suitable walking shoes.
For those who wish, we will lunch together in the garden cafe.
