Heide Museum of Modern Art
30 Years of the Heide Collection - 'Forever Young'
This exhibition traces the colourful history of the Museum, showing off the grounds and buildings that have made it so revered.
In 1934 John and Sunday Reed, both devoted to modern art, bought six hectares of land and an old weather board house in Bulleen. They gave it the name “Heide” based on the township of Heidelberg. Their home became a platform for thriving young artists.
Heide is made up of three buildings each with its own unique story and image. “Forever Young” is the first exhibition to span all three sites, with each gallery space given over to a particular period.
Join us on a guided tour and talk, learn more about this important period in Australian art, view the beautiful gardens and parklands - a living aspect of the museum.
After the tour we will lunch together at Yarra Valley Country Club, situated next door to Heide.
